چکیده

Increasing the degradation of groundwater quality in Oman by salinization and chemical contaminants threaten primary sources of drinking water, especially in the coastal agricultural areas. This work elaborates the quality deterioration of groundwater due to chemical contaminants. First, we describe the development and application of Dynamic Bayesian Networks (DBNs) to determine the impact of these contaminants on groundwater quality. Second, we discuss and compare the results produced by these methods with that produced by the applications of neural networks and by the applications of classical time series models.

Human risk assessment of organic contaminants in reclaimed wastewater used for irrigation

Current water quality guidelines for reclaimed wastewater have predominantly addressed risks associated with the presence of microbial organisms. Comparatively, chemical parameters have been largely overlooked or inadequately considered. Acceptable levels of chemical parameters will be dependant on the proposed reuse applications for the water and, in many cases, site-specific factors such as t...

Assessing Temporal and Spatial Variations of Groundwater Quality (A case study: Kohpayeh-Segzi)

Assessing the quality of groundwater is important to ensure the sustainablesafe use of these resources. However, describing the overall water quality condition isdifficult due to the spatial variability of multiple contaminants and the wide range ofindicators (chemical, physical and biological) that could be measured. Therefore, in thiscase study, some water quality parameters including Na, Mg,...

Abstract In this paper, Qeera wastewater containing stream, found in Bakkee-Jamaa district of Nekemte town, was assessed for selected metals and physico-chemical properties. The metals were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry (FAAS). Additional water samples collected from Dangi spring water, which is found about 10 km far away from the town, and Chalalaqi waste water ...
